Welcome to
5th @TUS
We're glad
you're here!
Welcome to 5th grade @Twinfield!
I am so excited about working with 5th grade. Students in 5th grade seek opportunities to develop their own strengths and interests, to learn about themselves and their communities, and to expand their perspectives of what could and should be. This is the type of learning and development that makes us excited to be teachers.
My goal is to foster supportive classroom communities and engaging units of study to encourage students to be as excited about their learning as we are. Project-based learning is a big part of achieving that goal. I have been doing a lot of learning and creating to develop a 5th grade curriculum that is authentic, engaging, and challenging. It's going to be awesome!
The past two years have highlighted the importance of collaboration and communication between school and families. With this is mind, please reach out anytime you have questions, concerns, or celebrations. The best way to reach me is via ClassDojo or email since I don't always have time to check voice messages at school. If you'd like me to call you after school, please include the best number to reach you in the message or email.
Thank you,
Jeff Eddy and team
ClassDojo: ClassDojo is a tool for sharing information from the classroom with families. Classroom updates will be posted on ClassDojo, so please make sure you sign up. ClassDojo is also a tool for acknowledging and tracking positive behavior. Students will earn points to use in class for positive behavior. Families can view their student's behavior data through their account.
Google Classroom: Google Classroom will be our central hub for online resources. Links to websites, online texts, and digital assignments will be posted here as well as student announcements and reminders.
Google Drive: Students will be using Google Drive to create and store a wide range of classroom work. Drive can be accessed at home so students can show off their work in progress.
